It means choosing products with fewer synthetic ingredients, fewer questionable preservatives, and more transparency about what's actually inside. We avoid the things research has linked to skin irritation, hormone disruption, or undisclosed fragrance blends — and we tell you exactly what we use instead.

“Fragrance” or “parfum” on an ingredient list can legally hide hundreds of undisclosed chemicals, many of which are common skin irritants and known allergens. Dogs have a sense of smell roughly 10,000x more sensitive than ours — strong synthetic scents aren't neutral to them. Our formulas are scented (lightly) only with botanical ingredients we disclose by name, or left fragrance-free entirely.

Yes. Every formula is pH-balanced for canine skin and built for dogs with allergies, hot spots, reactive coats, or recurring flare-ups. We use colloidal oatmeal, aloe, chamomile, and other ingredients with long track records for soothing irritation. If your dog has a specific medical condition, we always recommend running it past your vet first.

Yes. Our formulas are gentle enough for puppies from about 8 weeks old and for senior dogs with thinner, drier, or more reactive skin. Both ends of a dog's life are when sensitive-skin formulations matter most — SalkaPet was built with that in mind.

Every SalkaPet product is formulated and made in the USA, in small batches. Every batch is reviewed before it ships. We're transparent about sourcing and won't make a product we wouldn't use ourselves.

Most “natural” pet products still rely on synthetic fragrance, harsh sulfate-based detergents, and unnecessary fillers — the labels are aspirational, but the ingredient lists tell a different story. We disclose every single ingredient on the label, no proprietary blends, no greenwashed terms. If we wouldn't use it on ourselves, it doesn't go in our formulas.

Yes — every ingredient is pet-safe by design. Our plant-based cleansers, soothing botanicals, and food-safe actives won't cause issues if your dog gets a few licks in during the bath. As always, rinse thoroughly after washing.

For most dogs, every 3–4 weeks is the sweet spot. Bathing more often than that can strip the natural skin barrier, even with a gentle formula. Between baths, use our Rinse-Free Paw Cleanser after walks and the 3-in-1 Balm for nose, paw, and dry spots.

Dip a damp Bamboo Toothbrush or your finger directly into the powder, then gently scrub along the gumline. The enzymes (calcified seaweed + parsley powder) do most of the work — you don't need to apply pressure. Aim for 30 seconds per side, daily if you can.

If a SalkaPet product doesn't work for your dog, email us within 30 days at hello@salkapet.com and we'll make it right — refund, replacement, or recommendation. We'd rather you find the right routine than be stuck with something that doesn't fit.

A 16 oz shampoo or conditioner typically lasts a small-to-medium dog about 4–6 months at one bath every 3–4 weeks. The Tooth Scrub lasts about 3 months with daily use. The 3-in-1 Balm and Paw Cleanser usually run 2–3 months depending on how often you're using them between walks.

The Purrfect Bond Brush is designed specifically for cats. Our other products are formulated for canine skin (different pH) — we don't recommend using them on cats. A feline skincare line is in development.
