Collection: Double-Coated Dogs

Double coats are two coats: a coarse outer layer and a dense undercoat that sheds in season. They need tools that reach the undercoat without scraping the skin underneath, and a wash that does not strip the outer coat's weather resistance.

The Slicker Brush does the undercoat work with fine angled pins. The Tangle Tamer is the daily pass that keeps loose hair off your floors. The Hypoallergenic Shampoo cleans with coconut-derived surfactants rather than sulfates.

One thing worth saying plainly: do not shave a double coat. It does not cool the dog down and the undercoat often grows back unevenly. Brush it out instead.
